I just finished a quick update to the Jerome’s Keywords to add compatibility for WordPress 2.0. Thanks to everyone who sent in reminders & suggestions, and a big thank-you to Horst Gutmann whose patch is the basis for this update.

Not much else has changed, except the ability to hide suggested keywords — but why would you want to? So you can stick with the 1.7/1.8 version of the plugin unless you have a burning need to upgrade to buggy WP2.0.

A serious update to this plugin is in the works which will build on the tagging system I wrote for LightPress. Tag management, an option page and the ability to import tags from other plugins (so you can switch back from UTW). It’s going to be great!

  1. I cannot find the 1.9 version of this plugin. I downloaded it, but it's 1.8. I am running WordPress 2.0.

  3. [...] 1.) Da wäre zuerst einmal das Tagging, also die Verschlagwortung der einzelnen Beiträge. Kein Problem mit Wordpress und Jeromes Keywords. So etwas hat gleich mehrere Vorteile. Direkt unterhalb eines Beitrages lassen sich, sofern vorhanden, weitere Beiträge zu passenden Stichworten finden. Zum Anderen gibt es in der Menüleiste einen weiteren Block, der beliebte oder wichtige Tags auflistet. Diesen habe ich manuell angelegt. Das Plugin kennt weitere, auch automatisierte Möglichkeiten. Wordpress legt für jedes Stichwort eine neue Seite an, was einem auch in Bezug auf Suchmaschinen zugute kommt. Je mehr relevante Seiten es gibt, desto besser die Chancen gefunden zu werden.   5. Zusätzlich verwenden wir einige Plugins (kleine Erweiterungen für Wordpress), die neue Nutzungsmöglichkeiten bieten. So werden die Tags mit dem Plugin Jeromes Keywords realisiert.

  7. You might consider to take some code from the "official jerome's keywords manager" ;-)

    It's a puny little extension which allows to manage previously entered tags over all posts: http://johannes.jarolim.com/blog/2006/05/24/jeromes-keywords-manager/

    Would be nice if your tagging plugin would deliver this functionality out of the box.

  11. Dear Jerome, thanks for supplying this plugin. I also have the related keyword plug in too…

    I have a question. Every time I make a post, my blog takes ages to get published and display the message that it's posted. If I open a new window to see if the post was posted. No keywords are entered. So I have to keep going back and re-adding them back in. Then it's ok. Another thing also is the suggested keyword section, I'm really not sure why that is there, it seems as if it does nothing at all. I'm sure this is not what you indeeded it to do. It doesn't suggest any keywords to use.

    Could you help me out here please.

  12. Jeromes Keywords ist eines der besten Plugins, die man haben kann, hervorragend werden hier alle Schlagworte und Tags über einen Zwischenschritt von der Homepage verlinkt. Vielen Dank

Prima, der Code ist drin, die Keywords werden ausgegeben, aber bis ein "Nicht-PHPler" die Tags für die einzelnen Artikel und dann noch sämtliche Schlüsselwörter in einer Tag-Cloud angezeigt bekommt, vergeht viel Zeit. Vielleicht schafft es ja mal irgendwer, irgendwo und irgendwann eine komplette Anleitung hierfür zu posten.
